Dermal Fillers

Precise structural correction - not a race to fill every line.

Dermal fillers can be used to restore selected volume, improve structural support or refine facial proportions. At Mira Clinic, filler treatment is planned around the face as a whole rather than around a syringe count or a list of isolated lines.

What Dermal Fillers Can Do

Depending on product and placement, fillers may be used for selected contour, support and volume concerns involving areas such as the cheeks, chin, jawline, lips or other facial structures.

What Fillers Cannot Do

Filler does not tighten significant loose skin, remove submental fat, correct every dark circle or replace surgical lifting. Using filler for a problem it cannot solve can add unnecessary volume without improving the underlying concern.

Why Placement Matters More Than 'More'

The same amount of filler can create very different results depending on anatomy and placement. A technically smooth injection is not enough; the treatment also needs to make sense for facial proportion.

The question is not 'Where can we add filler?' It is 'Would adding volume improve this face?'

Previous Filler Assessment

If you have had repeated injectable treatments, we consider where product was previously placed and whether additional volume is genuinely needed. Sometimes the best plan is to avoid adding more.

Safety and Medical Assessment

Injectable treatments carry risks including bruising, swelling, infection, nodules and vascular complications. Rare complications can be serious. Appropriate anatomy knowledge, sterile technique, product selection and a plan for recognising and managing complications are essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many syringes do I need?

Syringe count should follow the treatment plan, not determine it. Some patients need a small targeted correction; others may benefit from staged treatment.

Will filler make me look unnatural?

It can when treatment ignores proportion or accumulates over time. Conservative planning aims to preserve facial identity.

Should I dissolve my old filler first?

Not automatically. Existing filler should be assessed. Dissolution may be discussed when product position, excess volume or another clinical concern makes it appropriate.

Use Filler to Improve Proportion, Not to Erase a Face

Book a consultation with Dr. Joann for an assessment before deciding which area or product should be treated.
